Community Fund offers $40,000 in grants
15 June 2011
An annual initiative run by the estate’s project manager, the Dennis Family Corporation, the Manor Lakes Community Fund has distributed approximately $150,000 to local not-for-profit community groups since 2003.
“The Manor Lakes Community Fund has been an ongoing success story and we continue to be extremely proud to provide grants to support the local community,” said Dennis Family Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Peter Levinge.
“This year’s available total pool of $40,000 is the highest ever on offer and enables even more local groups to be recognised and share in the direct financial benefit.”
The fund’s eligibility conditions require applicant groups to be not-for-profit organisations which have been operating in the Wyndham municipality for a minimum of twelve months.
Mr Levinge said the fund has previously assisted a broad cross section of the local community.
“Our grants have helped make a variety of very worthy projects and initiatives possible where assistance has been needed.”
Last year, the Manor Lakes Community Fund awarded grants to 36 different groups involving people of all ages across such areas as the education, recreation, sporting and arts domains.
“Many recipients were seeking to purchase new equipment or requesting financial assistance with a range of special activities and programmes,” Mr Levinge continued.
“We encourage all community groups operating in the Wyndham Vale area to make application for inclusion in this year’s grant funding by the 15th July deadline.”
Grant recipients will be decided by an independent judging panel comprising community leaders*. The successful groups will be announced in August.

*The Dennis Family Corporation will appoint a judging panel to consider each application for a grant from the Community Fund. For each application the panel may decide, at its absolute discretion, to either award a grant from the Community Fund pool or to refuse the application. Any funds remaining in the Community Fund after all application decisions have been made will be added to the Community Fund for the following year.
