All aboard at Manor Lakes and Rose Grange
19 June 2009
Residents of Manor Lakes, in Wyndham Vale, and Rose Grange, in Tarneit, will receive a welcome boost to the vital infrastructure servicing their area with the Victorian Government announcing that train stations will be built at both estates.
The Manor Lakes station and the Rose Grange station will be first two of six planned to be built as part of the $4.3bn Regional Rail Link.
Bert Dennis, Founding Chairman, Dennis Family Corporation, the project managers of Manor Lakes and Rose Grange, welcomed the announcement saying the rail route will provide much needed critical infrastructure that will service the rapidly growing western suburbs.
"The delivery of these stations will herald one of the most exciting stages of development the western suburbs have seen in decades and will dramatically increase the amenity in one of Australia's fastest growing regions."
At Manor Lakes, the Regional Rail Link will run through the transport corridor. The Manor Lakes station is proposed to be located near the two schools, Our Lady of the Southern Cross Catholic Primary School and Manor Lakes P-12/Specialist College, and the site of the Manor Lakes Activity Centre.
The Rose Grange station is planned to be located on vacant land north of the estate. Once this land is brought into the proposed expanded Urban Growth Boundary, development will commence. The Dennis Family Corporation will project manage this development in conjunction with the land owners.
The Regional Rail Link will provide capacity for more than 20 extra train services every hour across the Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Werribee, Craigieburn and Sunbury (Sydenham) lines providing capacity for more than 9000 extra passengers every hour.
The State Government has not announced specific timing details, but the Dennis Family Corporation is hopeful that work will commence during 2010.
